WELCOME TO THE

GORDON NELSON

MEMORIAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

PROVIDING FUNDS FOR SCHOLARSHIPS, RESEARCH GRANTS AND OTHER PROGRAMS WHICH PROMOTE THE WELFARE OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC AS IT RELATES TO THE EQUINE INDUSTRY.

Our Mission

The purpose of the Gordon Nelson Memorial Foundation is to raise and provide funds for scholarships, research grants and other programs which promote the welfare of the general public as it relates to the equine industry.

Our History

Gordon Nelson was in his early fifties when he began horseback riding. Rapidly becoming enthusiastic in the sport, he enjoyed participating in western pleasure competitions, both at the state and local levels, taking special interest in the trail class. In his short riding career, Gordon emphasized sportsmanship, perseverance, leadership and a quest for continued learning.

In 1994, the Gordon Nelson Memorial Foundation (GNMF) was created in his memory. One of the objectives of the GNMF is to offer annual equine-related educational scholarships.
